The Position:
The COVID-19 Vaccine Program Specialist performs professional work involved with coordinating, implementing, and supporting the district's student vaccination attestation and COVID-19 testing programs. Under direction from the COVID-19 Health Officer, the Program Specialist is responsible for implementing, coordinating and supporting the student vaccination attestation and onsite student/employee COVID-19 testing procedures and protocols. Contact and interaction is with employees, students, and applicable contracted representatives are essential. The Program Specialist may provide support to health care students assisting with COVID-19 testing procedures.

A competent degree of judgment is required following district procedures in serving as a technical resource person for various aspects of the vaccination attestation and testing program, to ensure policy requirements are met, and to resolve problems that may arise.



Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties below are representative of the duties of the classification and are not intended to cover all of the duties performed by the incumbent(s) of any particular position.   1. Navigate, review, and request follow up information from submitted student attestation information
  2. Communicate with students and college personnel per procedural processes regarding vaccination attestation elements
  3. Support COVID-19 Health Officer in review processes for student medical exemption requests
  4. Administer and support COVID-19 testing procedures and protocols for employees and students
  5. Document essential elements required for the student attestation process
  6. Document essential elements required for the student and employee COVID-19 procedures
  7. Maintain confidentiality of information following FERPA and HIPAA regulations
  8. Use a variety of computer software platforms to administer, monitor, and support student COVID-19 attestation and student and employee testing procedures
  9. Perform other related duties as assigned


Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelors degree with some demonstrated knowledge/experience related to healthcare OR an Associate degree from an accredited institution in a healthcare related field AND applicable credentials and/or licensure OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated skills in communicating effectively, constructively, sensitively, and respectfully with people at various levels within organizations who are diverse in their academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds
  • Demonstrated skills in written and oral communication
  • Skill in the use of computer software platforms to manage health care data and facilitate and monitor COVID-19 testing
  • Demonstrated skill in working as part of a small collaborative team
