Position Overview:
This position will work to advise and counsel law students on career planning, through individualized training, guidance and feedback. They will also assist students in developing skills necessary to obtain jobs and help students develop professional networks to advance career opportunities. Additionally, they will provide administrative assistance in managing programs of the Career Development Office as well as job postings.
Required Experience:
- Three years of relevant counseling experience (academic advising, career counseling, therapeutic or social work counseling, or attorney-client counseling); a Juris Doctor may substitute two of the three years of experience
Required Education:
- Bachelors Degree
Required Other:
- Ability to travel
- Ability to work non-standard work hours
Additional Preferred:
- Ability to consistently exercise discretion and sound ethical judgment, particularly when dealing with confidential matters
- Knowledge of issues related to higher education administration
- Knowledge of career development issues, particularly those faced by attorneys and aspiring attorneys
- Knowledge of legal employment trends and career development
