The College and the District:
Caada College is part of the San Mateo County Community College District and is designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI), enrolling approximately 11,000 students each academic year. The Position:
The Director of Regional Global Trade is a full-time 12-month position and serves all 28 colleges comprising the Bay Area Community College Consortium (BACCC) to facilitate higher performance levels in achieving the goals set forth in the region's Workforce Development Plan: provide pathways to livable wage careers, close critical labor market gaps for livable wage jobs and ensure equity at each stage of our pathways. This role will focus on bringing Global Trade opportunities to the Bay Area colleges. BACCC members collaborate on a variety of projects that often involve multiple stakeholders including colleges, K-12, Industry, Adult Education and Workforce Development Boards, among others.

This is a temporary position funded by the Deputy Sector Navigator Grant and may be eliminated once the grant funding has been exhausted

Duties and Responsibilities:
The duties below are representative of the duties of the classification and are not intended to cover all of the duties performed by the incumbent(s) of any particular position. 1. Plans, directs, organizes, and manages the administration of high-quality workforce programming

2. Helps prepare for and participate in regular BACCC, regional engagement and regional support team calls and meetings, as well as a variety of meetings convened across the region

3. Builds and manages industry partnerships, including the formation and maintenance of regional and/or sub-regional industry advisory groups

4. Develops and implements a work plan that is reviewed and approved by BACCC and that clearly reflects both the statewide sector and regional consortia strategies in achieving the regions Workforce Development Plan goals

5. Convenes, facilitates, and collaborates with a variety of stakeholders on regional workforce development strategies, programs and engagement; builds partnerships with a variety of regional stakeholders; facilitates development of programs in BACCC member organizations where applicable

6. Fully participates in regularly scheduled BACCC convened meetings of regional directors and other regional support staff

7. Ensures that funds are managed in compliance with guidelines, procedures, and within deadlines

8. Performs duties in conformance with applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures

9. Directs, coordinates, and participates in short-range and long-range planning; conducts research and surveys to determine current effectiveness and future needs; prepares related reports and plans and shares with college community

10. Establishes liaison with business organizations, community and regional groups, other community colleges, and four-year colleges and universities

11. Develops strategic business partnerships locally to share training and equipment resources

12. Analyze business and industry trends to identify key workforce needs

13. Promote and market workforce development through presentations, brochures, correspondence, and other materials

14. Participates in a variety of committee and staff meetings in support of economic development programs and activities; participates in other related committee assignments as required, both on and off campus

15. Performs related duties as required or assigned

Minimum Qualifications:
Possession of a Bachelors Degree, preferably in a field related to the industry sector or priority area

Three years of increasingly responsible experience managing an economic development or related program, which included grant writing and development and management of budgets

Substantial work experience or extensive knowledge of the industry sector or priority area

Management experience or experience working with distributed teams of collaborators

Demonstrated cultural competence, sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff

1. Knowledge of community college workforce development practices

2. Knowledge of and experience in program development, management, and supervision

3. Skill in preparing clear, concise, and comprehensive written and oral reports

4. Ability to learn, interpret, and successfully apply district policies, procedures, rules, and regulations

5. Demonstrated skills in successful interpersonal communication and leadership

6. Possession of an entrepreneurial approach to leading the department

7. Proficiency in the use of a variety of computer software to format, compose and prepare statistical, financial and narrative reports, presentations and other written materials

8. Understanding of and commitment to the role and purpose of the community college

9. Experience in writing state and federal grants

10. Knowledge of basic research and planning methods

11. Experience in training, supervising, directing, and evaluating the work of others

12. Classroom teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications:
Possession of a Masters degree from an accredited institution preferably in Business, Public Administration, or a related discipline
