Position Overview:
The IdahoSTARS Infant/Toddler & Family Coordinator contributes directly to the success of IdahoSTARS, one of the many projects run by the Idaho Center on Disabilities and Human Development (CDHD). This position supports the development, coordination, implementation, and maintenance of statewide systems and initiatives focused on improving the quality of care for infants, toddlers, and families within childcare settings.

This position is responsible for the coordination and support of systems for: 1) Infant and Toddler initiatives: processes for the development, implementation, maintenance, and delivery of specialized infant and toddler quality improvement activities and professional development; and 2) Family engagement initiatives: processes for the development, implementation, maintenance, and delivery of family engagement supports, resources, and professional development opportunities.

Responsibilities include developing, obtaining, modifying, presenting, coordinating, and supporting specialized professional development opportunities, technical assistance, and relationship-based practices grounded in research and evidence-based approaches that are specific to the care and education of infants and toddlers and partnering with families. This position collaborates with the Professional Development and CCR&R teams and across IdahoSTARS programs to support alignment with project priorities, CCDF requirements, and strategic direction.

Required Experience:
  • Three years working with children birth to three and their families
  • Development of professional development content grounded in research and evidence-based practices
  • Experience supporting Infant and Toddler care and education initiatives
  • Experience collaborating with families and/or supporting family engagement practices

Required Education:
Bachelor's Degree in one of the following areas:
  • Early Childhood Education
  • Child Development
  • Human Development
  • Family and Consumer Studies
  • Child and Family Studies
  • Child Care and Development, or
  • Family Relations and Child Development

Required Other:
  • Ability to travel between locations during the workday to attend meetings and support program activities
  • Ability to work nonstandard hours as needed

Additional Preferred:
Preferred Experience:
  • Five years of experience working with infants and toddlers and their families
  • Experience implementing adult learning principles to ensure quality content delivery and development
  • Experience with reflective consultation or reflective practice
  • Experience coordinating a statewide program
  • Experience supporting family engagement initiatives in early childhood settings

Preferred Education:
  • Master's degree in one of the required degree programs

Preferred Other:
  • Experience developing Infant and toddler and family-focused professional development
  • Managing a variety of projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Implementing core components of a shared workplace
  • Collecting and analyzing data
  • Use of software applications for business purposes, including Microsoft applications
