Posting Context Statement:
The Assistant Coach for Football (Special Teams) is responsible for assisting the head football coach with all facets of conducting a successful NCAA intercollegiate football program. The position reports directly to the head football coach. This position must be in compliance with all NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations and must display professional integrity. Duties include: coaching and instructing during practice and competition for football, mentoring student-athletes, recruiting student-athletes, summer camp administration, community engagement, fundraising, and other duties as assigned by the head football coach.

Position Overview:
The Assistant Coach for Football (Special Teams) is responsible for assisting the head football coach with all facets of conducting a successful NCAA intercollegiate football program. The position reports directly to the head football coach. This position must be in compliance with all NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations and must display professional integrity.

Duties include:
  • Coaching and instructing during practice and competition for football
  • Mentoring student-athletes
  • Recruiting student-athletes
  • Summer camp administration
  • Community engagement
  • Fundraising
  • Other duties as assigned by the head football coach

Required Experience:
  • Experience with NCAA policies and procedures
  • Intercollegiate coaching experience


Required Education:
  • Bachelors Degree

Required Other:
  • Ability to travel
  • Possess a valid drivers license and be able to meet policy requirements for driving university-owned vehicles

Additional Preferred:
  • Masters degree
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to comply with NCAA and conference rules and regulations
  • Desire to work in a collaborative environment and to learn and grow
  • Coaching philosophy consistent and/or complementary to that of the existing head coach for womens volleyball
  • Concern for the character, academic and athletic preparation of student-athletes
  • Experience recruiting national caliber track and field student-athletes
  • Ability to establish good rapport and effective working relationships with student-athletes, department members, administrators, university faculty and staff, professional colleagues, and the general public

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
  • Ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
