The Assistant Football Coach (Defensive Coordinator) is responsible for assisting the head coach with all facets of conducting a successful NCAA intercollegiate program. The position must comply with all NCAA, conference, and university rules and regulations and must display professional integrity. Duties include on-the-field coaching during practices and games: recruiting of top-quality student-athletes; team travel, conditioning, academics, promotional and public relations activities; summer collegiate camps; and other duties as assigned by the head coach.

- Recruiting of top-quality student-athletes

- Summer collegiate camps
- Other duties as assigned by the head coach
Required Experience:
- Experience with NCAA policies and procedures
- Intercollegiate coaching experience
Required Education:
- Bachelors degree
Required Other:
- Valid drivers license and ability to meet requirements for driving university vehicles
- Ability to travel
Additional Preferred:
- Masters degree
- Exhibited organizational skills
- Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to comply with NCAA and conference rules and regulations
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment to accomplish shared goals
- Coaching philosophy that aligns with the programs established strategies and standards
- Supports and monitors student-athletes academic and athletic development in alignment with NCAA requirements.
- Experience recruiting national caliber student-athletes
- Ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with student-athletes, staff, faculty, and external partners
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
- Ability to lift, carry and/or otherwise move objects weighing up to 25 pounds
