Position Summary:

The Department of English at the University of Idaho invites applications for a full-time Instructor who can teach a range of classes in composition, professional and technical writing, and literature. This non-tenure track position will begin Fall 2026 with a 4/4 teaching load at upper- and lower-division undergraduate levels. Other subjects such as creative writing may be taught as relevant to department need and instructor experience. Service on department committees is expected.

Minimum Education/Degree Required:
Listed degree qualification is required at time of hire.
Required Qualifications:

MA in English or related field
2 years experience teaching composition, professional and technical writing, and/or literature

Preferred Qualifications:

MFA or PhD in English or related field
5 years experience teaching composition, professional and technical writing, and/or literature
Training in rhetorical and/or composition theory and pedagogy
Training in professional and technical writing theory and pedagogy
Specialization in literatures of the Americas
Specialization in digital humanities
Documented history of promoting student engagement, success, and achievement
